There is something fantasizing about blogs just like stamps. Peoplewhom you have never known before visit it and comment on it. I startedblogging in my first year of under graduation. My first post was a fantasy story. My luck, it got published in a book soon.
There is more than just that about blogging. The pleasure of writing is duly rewarded both by acting as an archive as well as getting feedback. The exciting part is that strangers whose real identity is also unknownget to pass by your life through their comments. That awe of totally unknown person dropping by, is inexplicable.
As a child I used to write and show it to my classmates. Again my luck, they were all very appreciative of it and encouraged me more. I got my identity through my poetry. I felt unique and proud of it. I was still an average person. Little did I know that this quality wouldlead me into an interesting career. My undergraduation was engineering and I detested it all along. My solace back then was blog which
incepted even before orkut. Being a blogger gave me a ticket to theworld of writers and encouraged my writing.
Today, I'm out of engineering and a successful journalist. But blog was my first published platform and I'm happy that I'm still keeping it alive through this challenge. Some pleasures in life dont need grandeur. It is solely dependent on self satisfaction and blog has fulfilled that desire throughout. Thanks to google!

ReplyDeleteMost pleasures in life don't need grandeur. Heck, they are building 5-Star hotel rooms with a thatched roof near the beaches!
ReplyDeleteI feel, Blogging is a good medium for self-expression and connections. When I first started out, I thought this medium was tailor made for me. So maybe it attracts certain type of creative people.

Absolutely bang on! If writing lets you vent out all your feelings and thoughts, blogging is an extension of writing, which enables you to take your thoughts to the world at large, and to maybe even have a dialogue. For a person like me, who otherwise steers clear of verbal conversations, blogging is a saviour
ReplyDeleteKeep blogging. All the best for the A to Z Challenge
I'm a writer who blogs. I blog to support and promote my writing, but in relation to the writing process...I agree it is great, and a wonderful outlet.
ReplyDeleteBlogging started for me, and still remains, a hobby and a way to connect to readers and writers. All the best with the challenge !

I started blogging because a friend talked me into it. It has taken me on an incredible journey and my book only exists because I started this journey. I love it.

True ! To me, blogging is somehow both personal and anonymous!
ReplyDeleteAs a family historian, I wanted to do a book about our family but such a project was overwhelming. Blogging has allowed me to write brief stories and vignettes that accomplish the same thing -- the story of my ancestors.

Starting a blog on first year of UG, love for poetry and looking blogs as digital stamps! I find a lot of mutual interest in our interests. Will tune into your blog often.
